

Our Environmental Monitor Workshop program is designed to provide training for field monitors hired by industry to monitor environmental management practices at mining operations in Ontario.
Students will experience a hands-on fieldwork monitoring course that emphasizes proper sample collection and safety considerations. Monitoring tools and techniques will be discussed, such as equipment calibration exercises, field note taking, data entry, calculations, and laboratory protocols.

Purpose & Benefits
Participants will from an interactive environmental monitoring course that includes:
- An introduction to the roles and responsibilities of Environmental Monitors;
- Monitoring and Sampling best practices for: Groundwater, surface water, stream flow, dust fall, and soil sampling; equipment maintenance and inspections; and safety considerations for a variety of field activities and environmental conditions.
