CONGRATULATIONS KARA!
SUCCESSFUL COURSE COMPLETION!
Blue Heron is proud to announce that Kara Gauvreau recently completed an Ontario Reptile and Amphibian Survey course, hosted by Blazing Star Environmental, in cooperation with the MDMNRF and others.
The course provided training in reptile and amphibian field survey methodology for conservation professionals. Throughout the course our aquatic biologist, Kara, was able to review the ecology and biology of the various amphibian and reptile (herptiles) species that occur within Ontario.
Kara works out of our headquarters in Timmins, ON. If you are interested in our biological services, visit the links above to learn more about our services and our bio department team.

The group identified over 14 species of herptiles including some provincial species at risk.
Learners reviewed identification of herptiles by sight, and also by sound for frogs and toads. The hands-on portion gave students the opportunity to analyze habitat and search for associated herptiles, luckily with great success. The group was able to identify over 14 species of herptiles including some provincial species at risk.
The course offered Kara the opportunity to refamiliarize herself with local amphibian and reptile species, and the use of proper techniques for locating individuals and their associated habitats.
