EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: GET TO KNOW THE TEAM
TIFFANY GARNETT
JR. ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER
Meet Tiffany Garnett, Jr. Environmental Engineer, a 2021 addition to our Blue Heron Environmental team.
Tiffany graduated from her engineering degree in 2013 and while looking for environmental engineering opportunities, she began to pursue a career in fitness and health, which lasted 7 years, until she decided she wanted to get back into the environmental field. Health and fitness are still a passion of hers, but she decided to focus her energy on doing her part to improve the environment.
Tiffany has worked two summers as an environmental technician with Sanexen Services Environnementaux and now with Blue Heron, she plans to focus on beginning some engineering projects.
We asked Tiffany Garnett to answer a few questions to help our clients get to know her better.
GET TO KNOW TIFFANY GARNETT
I learned about Blue Heron when I had first graduated from university and was looking for a job. Years later, I discovered that my sister-in-law’s cousin works there, and so she connected me with him, and now here I am.
The best part about it is that I get to have a mix of outdoor field work, lab work, as well as some desk work. It provides a lot of variety in the day.
The best part about being out in the field is that are in the snow, forest, mud or on the water and must use ATVs, boats or snowmobiles to get around to the sample locations.
Can’t think of anything.
My first job was working at a cadet summer camp in Alberta when I was 18 years old, where I had to lead and be responsible for a group of 24 cadets, 24/7 for six (6) weeks. It was a wonderful learning experience!
I would want to be able to speak any language, in order to be able to communicate with anyone from around the world.
Not particularly, no.
My goal for this year has been to get my motorcycle license. So I have already purchased a motorcycle, and I am now in the process of getting my M2 license so I can ride this summer.
My favourite place visited so far has been Thailand for it’s beautiful scenery, culture, massages, beaches, and food, but I find beauty in any of the places I have traveled such as Scotland, Italy, Cuba, Alberta and B.C., Eastern Quebec, and many States of the U.S.
They each have their little things that make them unique and special to visit.
