This session will identify the triggers for environmental permits in Ontario and provides an overview of the application process for various permit types so that managers understand resource and timing requirements for typical permits.
Intro to Environmental Technicians/Monitors
Designed as an introductory course that offers hands-on exercises and classroom training to learn the roles and responsibilities of an environmental monitor/technician working in Ontario.
This workshop aims to provide training for field monitors responsible for collecting environmental data related to mining activity in Ontario.
Building a Sampling and Reporting Calendar
This workshop is to provide a planning session to review what environmental regulatory and other sampling and or reporting requirements are needed for a participants sites, and to plan them accordingly.
Participants will bring all permits and Environmental Compliance Approvals, as well as any other sampling/reporting obligations with them. The regulatory obligations will be reviewed, and a calendar will be populated. Participants will leave the workshop with a sampling and reporting calendar populated for the upcoming year.
Introduction to the Liquid Fuels Handling Code
Common to most construction projects and industrial sites, fuel storage is an area of high risk for spills and potential harm to the environment.
This session will review the regulatory requirements in detail for fuel storage, and best practices for managing fuel storage. Participants will also practice what they have learned by auditing virtual fuel storage scenarios using the training materials provided.
