Meet Brad Foster, Aquatic Biologist, a 2022 addition to our Blue Heron Environmental team.
Brad Foster is an Aquatic Biologist with 8 years of experience in environmental consulting and government. His focus is on fisheries assessments, construction inspections and mitigation measures.
Brad has been involved in several projects in the Transportation and Aggregates sectors gaining vast aquatic and terrestrial experience. His wide variety of project experience includes Ministry of Transportation (MTO) culvert crossing ecological assessments, geotechnical drilling programs, plant community classification, benthic invertebrate sampling and identification, wetland delineations, and sediment and erosion control inspections.

HOW DID YOU FIRST LEARN ABOUT BLUE HERON ENVIRONMENTAL?
A current staff member (Kara Gauvreau) posted a job ad online where I came across it and was drawn in.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING An Aquatic biologist?
My favorite part of being an aquatic biologist is being around water and being able to be involved in the protection of aquatic environments.
WHAT IS one myth ABOUT BEING AN Aquatic biologist that you'd like to clear up?
Aquatic Biologists don’t like anglers. Many of us are avid anglers!
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB?
When I was 15, I would record keep and run the scoreboard for local youth hockey games.
IF YOU COULD PICK UP ANY NEW SKILL IN AN INSTANT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
If I could pick up a new skill in an instant, it would be to have perfect spelling and grammar.
