Employee Spotlight: Get to Know the Team

Michael Hoven

Environmental Technician

Meet Michael Hoven, Environmental Technician a recent full-time hire to our Compliance and Technical Services department.

Michael first joined us as a summer student in 2022, gaining hands-on experience in surface water and groundwater sampling at various mining operations. After completing secondary school, he continued to build his skills by working alongside Senior Technicians on large-scale monitoring projects, all while pursuing his Environmental Technician program at Fleming College.

Now a full-time member of the team, Michael follows in the footsteps of his father, Dwayne Hoven, who worked with Blue Heron for over a decade.

We asked Michael Hoven to answer a few questions to help our clients get to know him better.

We continue to share the stories of the remarkable additions to our hard-working team at Blue Heron Environmental (BHE). In the past few  years, we’ve hired a number of new professionals to help reach new heights for our business.

To showcase the people who make up Blue Heron, we sat down with team members to ask them a few questions about their professional career — and a few personal ones too.
